DESCRIPTION:Louis Brandeis was a committed activist\, a progressive\, a Zionist\, and the first Jewish Justice when he was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1916. He changed jurisprudence with what is still called the Brandeis Brief\, and his opinions on privacy and free speech later became settled law\, yet it’s unlikely Brandeis could be confirmed to the high court today.
